Rice Rusks and Choking?

I am wondering how safe it is to give my 7 month old son rice rusks for a snack? The pediatrician said I should feel free to offer him crackers or bread. He has his two bottom teeth and appears to be trying to chew his baby food. I am possibly being over-protective, but am worried about him choking.

  • If you are worried about your 7 months old choking on them, melt a bit to avoid it. My understanding is that they tend to be sticky at first, when the baby sucks more pieces of bite. Also, if you are really concerned and there are no fees, I would call my pediatrician's office and check.
