Does my fatty cat have an eating disorder?

My putty cat, she is so cute. She is rolly polly fat and purrs while she eats and then for a while after she is done eating.

Do you think she has some sort of an eating disorder? She just loves eating wayyyy toooo much and it really shows!

  • Some cats can just be large cats, and some cats can have diabetes.

If you are really concerned about it, you can keep her on a strict diet.

If you are not THAT worried about it, then just keep an eye on her, and if she starts drinking a LOT of water, take her to the vet, cause that is a sign of kitty diabetes.

  • animals don't have eating disorders. Owners have feeding disorders. Animals become obese due to being overfed. You trian them to eat too much without ever realizing it. You need to go to your veternarian and ask for a plan to cut her down step by step. If you don't...you shorten her life same as obesity does for humans.

  • LOL sounds like shes a happy eater. Cats can enjoy over indulging just like we do. If you're worried feed her once in the morning, and once at night. They also have special food for tubby puddy tats.

  • aww i love puddy tats... maybe she needs more exercise and stimulation? less food and more play? i did actually have a client who had a 28 lb cat with a thyroid problem they gave it on 1/2 a cup of food twice a day and the vet clinic at UT was going to study her ^-^ but that is very rare.
