Chloraseptic tastes AWFUL and burns my throat! Is there another way?

What do you do to ease a sore throat? I've tried honey and gargling salt water (ouchie!) but nothing seems to help. I can't even swallow spit it hurts so bad!

  • Well 1st, if its that bad, have you been to the doc to rule out strep? If you don't get antibiotics for that it can turn into rheumatic fever and other serious complications! After that, I don't think chloraseptic works at all. Take some tylenol or motrin for real pain relief and drink some hot tea with honey and lemon (real honey has healing benefits) Even a spoonful a honey may offer relief!!! I hpe you feel better soon!

  • some warm to hot water with some chicken bouillon in it works well

campbell's chicken noodle - just the broth

ginger ale or some other fizzy soda

someone on here mentioned apple cider vinegar - but I don't know about that one
