  • Check out the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It will give you everything you ever need to know about your reproductive system and cycles.

  • There's a lot to know. The wechsler book is the bible on the subject.

At the simplest level, look for egg white consistency. Don't know what that is? Go crack an egg. **grin**

  • There will be little or no CM present the few days following ur period.

Early mucous begins just prior to ovulation. Its thick mucous that is sticky & white or creamy in color.

As your cycle progresses, the CM will begin to look cloudy & will increase in volume. The CM will stretch further during the finger test, but will still break before ur thumb & forefinger are stretched completely apart.

Highly fertile mucous occurs at ovulation. It is thin, stretchy & clear or pale white much like egg whites. It is often referred to as egg white mucous due to its resemblance. At this time until ovulation reaches its peak when the chances of conception are at their highest. Its the stretchiest mucous & can be stretched several centimeters between fingers before breaking.

The changes in post- O mucus and egg white mucus are drastic. The amount lessens & it becomes sticky. This mucus is not as stretchy.
