Why can't I get the best of my husband?

At work he is the greatest - friendly, efficient, etc. When he gets home - grrrrr

  • it's like children... they act up most where they feel most comfortable, at home with the people who love them unconditionally. remind him that the little things like manners and attention go a long way

  • Maybe he needs more decompress time when he first gets home. I feel "grrrrr" too when I walk in the door after a stressful day and don't have time to catch my breath before the hubs and kids are wanting my time and attention. Now I give everyone a kiss, go to my room, change my clothes, read a few pages of whatever book I am on, then rejoin the family. It helps me change gears in a nonstressful way.

  • first, make sure hat your home is a calm pleasant environment to come home to. when he gets home, do not bombard him as he walks through the door about how you cleaned this or that, how this or that needs fixing, how much the kids annoyed you today, etc. Welcome him with a kiss, then let him have 20 minutes to himself to just unwind.
