I don't have a problem with it, but I know some people do.

  • No. Lots of MDs practicing in the US who are from foreign countries- Med school is free in many countries-

  • Nope. At our family doctor's office, we've seen two (one male and one female dr.) who are both from India. As long as they are professional and know their stuff, that's fine with me!

  • I know some people have issues with the "communications" portion of the care, especially older people. People want (and need) to be able to understand what the MD is trying to say, especially if urgent decisions need to be made.

  • I never cared. I prefer a woman gyno, but race is irrelevant.

  • I'd only have a problem if he/she didn't speak English well and if we couldn't understand each other

  • No, but I think it does to many. At my Dr o
ffice there is a Dr called sounds like haveto. Many people will not see him. I like him, he's pretty down to earth and not too terribly hard to understand.

  • race? no, not at all. But i've had dr.s w/ accents so think I couldnt understand 1/2 of what they said and I changed. I'm far too involved in my treatments to not know what's going on or be able to have a conversation about it.

  • As long as they can speak English, I am fine. I prefer doctors that don't talk down to me though.

  • No, not at all. I just want a Doctor who listens and does a good job with testing and diagnosis. I don't care if it is a man or a woman, white or black or yellow or plaid. :-)
