  • I have always had a firm handshake because when i get a weak hand shake it tells me that the person is not very secure with themselves and it comes right across just from their handshake. I am a petite person and have always gotten compliments mostly from men but many women as well stating how impressed they are that i have such a firm handshake and it tells them how confident I am and not afraid to show it.

  • Yes, I do. I've shaken hands with people who have limp handshakes, and walked away thinking not real good things. I make a point to keep it firm.

  • Yes, I do. I hate it when someone shakes my hand, man or woman, with a limp hand.

  • I am a smaller framed woman & having the firmer handshake sometimes gets comments, but my dad is Italian & he taught me the importance of a firm handshake. I also tend to think negatively about a weak or limp handshake and the person behind it

  • I do, I was fortunate to have a mentor in my first ever "office job," he taught me how important the handshake is.

  • Yes. Limp handshakes are annoying, even from women. A firm handshake and eye contact is important. Where did I learn that? No clue. Sounds like common sense.

  • I do. Always have from working with men. Recently I met the mother of my son's new girlfriend and shook her hand and it was literally like holding a piece of warm bologna. Not impressive, kinda embarrassing and not a good first impression. I think I may have broke a bone or two of hers.
