Does anybody have a great recipe for corn bread?

  • not exactly.... i use the jiffy cornbread mix, but i'll add some chopped up jalepeno, or some fresh green onions sliced, to the batter before i bake it. sometimes i put some cheese on top. it makes it seem like you worked harder - and looks homemade rather than from a box. it always comes out great! :)

  • I use Paula Deens Cornbread recipe...its exactly how my nanny used to make it. I always forget the exact measurements so I use Paula's...Its super fantastic

    Paula Deen's Cornbread
    1 cup self-rising cornmeal
    1/2 cup self-rising flour
    3/4 cup buttermilk
    2 eggs
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    Change Measurements: US | Metric
    Directions:Prep Time: 5 minsTotal Time: 30 mins
    1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2Combine all ingredients and mix well. 3Pour batter into a greased shallow baking dish. 4Bake for approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
