Does anyone here know about making hand appliques?

I have been doing a wall hanging and it has not turned out as well as the picture. I have used fusible webbing, but thinking maybe fusible batting was what I should have used.

  • Without knowing the project, fusible webbing is generally the right answer for applique. Why do you think you'd want a fusible batting? Is there a special effect you're trying to get? If your wall hanging is quilted you, could use a fusible batting for the batting layer in the quilt, but you shouldn't need it for the applique, in fact, it might make it harder to applique.
