If I thawed out pork chops yesterday, would they still be good to cook on Friday?

It's just I made pork chops last night & I didn't use the 2 pkgs (6 chops) I thought I would. I just made pork tenderloin too the other night & I know DH will feel like all he eats is pork. I don't want to re-freeze, (wouldn't that be bad?) ... do you think it'll stay good til Friday? I'm gonna be gone tomorrow night but will be back Friday.

  • do NOT refreeze!
i think it needs to be cooked now or never.... friday is way too long. maybe cook it so it isn't wasted, and eat it as a leftover, or for lunch?

  • Maybe you could cook them today and freeze/refrigerate them until Friday after they are cooked?

  • i'd cook em after 24 hours. Given pork isn't that expensive, and if you want fresh, then go get some more and cook em on Friday.

  • I took a nutrition class and the nutritionist said not to let thawed meat sit more than a day or two in the fridge, I don't even let it sit that long. Why not cook it today? Then you can refreeze the meat. Even if you just put it in the crockpot with some BBQ sauce, at least the meat won't be wasted......
