  • WIth my oldest I didn't get a period for 18 months, no symptoms at all.
WIth my youngest she didn't nurse nearly as much and I had one I believe by 6-8 months old. Again if I wasn't on my period I didn't have symptoms.

  • 5 WEEKS! I felt so cheated! Lol.

I didn't ovulate until 4.5 months, though, so in a "normal" world, I wouldn't have had a period until 5 months. And I had a very short luteal phase until 13 months.

Aside from my period, I had fertile cervical mucus constantly during the first several months, nothing to indicate when anything was happening or going to happen. Then it almost completely dried up, again with no indication of what was going on. I only cramp lightly when I'm about to start my period, nothing in between.

The thing with nursing and periods is that it's all hormonal. Breastfeeding can really screw everything up (sometimes in a good way!). So if you're having period-like feelings, it could be your period coming on, or it could just be from breastfeeding.

  • With my son, it was around 4 or 5 months post-partum, when we introduced cereal and he drastically reduced his nursing. I'm almost 6 months post-partum with my daughter and still have not gotten my period. My midwife told me that it's common for it to take a bit longer with your second child. I'm not complaining! :)

  • 18 months both times, like clockwork. Felt nothing even resembling a period until then, but did occasionally get CM. If it's anything like last time (which we're betting on! haha!) I won't be able to conceive until after he weans.

  • Mine returned after 4 months, and so far each one of them has been lighter than before pregnancy. We have a six months-old whom I'm still BF. No symptoms that I remember before that time.

  • 5 months post partum with DD and 6 months post partum with DS. I don't recall having any symptoms or anything, both times I was completely surprised by its arrival.
