Why does she need to threaten?

Kathleen Sebelius has sent letters to insurance agencies warning them to shut up and not explain to people why Obamacare has forced them to raise rates

Many independant studies have shown that Obamacare will increase costs. CBO study has shown that many families will pay an additional $2100 a year by 2016 as a DIRECT result of Obamacare

  • wow, that's pretty bold. Especially since it's up to the insurance companies to figure out how much the new law is going to cost them. Since they will be forced to insure some people that they would have elected not to before, it's safe to say their costs will rise, which of course, gets passed on to the consumer.

  • Friday: I'm skeptical believing that Obamacare is at fault and not just the usual money hungry execs trying to line their pockets. The ins companies just have a readily available 'reason' this year.

Wasn't ObamaCare suppose to bring the cost DOWN for ALL American's?? Looks more like ObamaCare had a target market in mind to ensure 'certain Americans' were covered... Then SCREW the rest of the Americans. Let them eat Cake....  Just make sure it is all natrual-sugar free cake that Michelle endorses.. ;o)

  • I just wish more people would have seen this coming from the start, I saw this coming, lots of others did too, nothing in this bill made sense on how it would save us money, but this was the plan, the insurance will go up so that we have to turn to a full blown government medical care program, because no one can afford it otherwise. I think the fact that they dont want it getting out is just another sighn of what is going on here.

  • She better go after the Medicare Actuaries too. Afterall, they were the one's who said " White House number "does not provide a meaningful or accurate indication" of the effect of the health care law."

  • Here's a link to the letter she wrote. I'm pretty sure the .gov address means it's the exact letter.

It has come to my attention that several health insurer carriers are sending letters to their enrollees falsely blaming premium increases for 2011 on the patient protections in the Affordable Care Act.  I urge you to inform your members that there will be zero tolerance for this type of misinformation and unjustified rate increases.

"Health reform makes health care more affordable"....  Hrmmmmm~ not what Medicare, more and more States, Corporations,  and some insurance companies have said... ObamaCare was suppose to LOWER costs for ALL Americans... Obama Lied. Just admit it.. ;o)

  • Yea Friday, I get what you are saying.. BUt if there is little to no incentive to lower their costs and only more restrictions, guess what a company will do??? This is what happens when government interferes to regulate... Obama made the mistake of making promises to market and sell his scam plan "ObamaCare"...

  • Other than the obvious greed, lots of factors affect the rates rising. People who don't pay their medical bills raise doctor's rates, government regulations and taxes, etc. Obamacare is definitely going to have an effect. It may not be the ONLY reason, but it will be a reason. I'm sick and tired of government thinking they can shut up people so they can try to get away with whatever they want. It's always a case of if you speak out you are anti-american, or terrorist, or radical, or you're just lying. But if you read for yourself and understand what you are reading, you know the truth.
