3 Bumps

Boy moms...does your child wipe his own bottom?

After my 4y DS goes #2 he always asks me to wipe his bottom. He says he is afraid that he will get poop on his hand, starts getting very upset, and seems genuinely overwhelmed.

  • I made my daughter start doing it by the time she was 3 1/2 because she was going to be starting preschool at 4 and would need to know what she was doing on her own. That way I could still check her at first and she could get comfortable over time. Also, look into the moist, flushable wipes to help out at first!

  • I let him do it my son is 5. Since he goes to school I just insisted he learned on his own. He sometimes asks me for help but he's doing it on his own.
