What's your after school routine?

I'm just curious if anyone has any tips for the "after school rush"? I feel like it gets so hectic and with 3 kids I'm trying to find balance with helping them all with their homework, and keeping them focused. I do try to give them like 10 or 15 minutes to have a snack and regroup. Sometimes it isn't always so easy though!

  • Julita comes home on the bus, has about 30 minutes of free time before she has to settle in for her homework. Then we work in the yard together or do some other project around the house (there's always something that needs to be done!) and then we make dinner together. After dinner is some more free time, then bath, then reading, and bed at 8.

  • John comes home from school, grabs a bottle of water, & sits down & does homework right away (he gets off the bus too close to dinner for a snack.)

  • Paige is still in Kindergarten so homework only takes 20 to 30 minutes a day. They only do English and Math for now. She gets home at 3pm, gets off the bus, watched some TV while snacking for 30-40 minutes, then does her homework, does her soccer practice, Spanish and piano lessons on different days of the week, comes home and plays for 2-3 hours, dinner at 7.30, bath at 8.30, bedtime at 9.30

    She's 5.
