WYR wait 30 minutes at the front of the line at school or wait 30 minutes at the end of the line?

My son gets out of school at 3:30. I can either get there at 3 and wait for thirty minutes and be one of the first to pick up or I can wait until 3:30 to go over to the school and wait in the line and get to pick my son up at about 3:45-3:55. What would you rather do?

  • I always try to get there early but when i know i wont make it, i go closer to the time i know the line will be shorter.

  • If you are not going to be late getting your son either way than either works.

For me, my DD goes to a private school for pre-k. However, normally I am early b.c I have to take DH to work or get him from college + take him to work. Rarely can I get there close to the end of the line.

One day I got stuck in road work RIGHT in front of her school. Needless to say, she was 2nd yto the LAST to get picked up. NEVER do that again. Broke my heart she was the last 1.

  • If you want that extra time for yourself then get him later, as long as he does not mind

  • Do they not have buses in your school district?!

Answer by LoriKeet at 7:29 PM on Sep. 30, 2010

  • I like to be there early and get out of the crowd quickly.

Answer by KimPippin at 7:33 PM on Sep. 30, 2010

  • LoriKeet, they do but because of the budget they cut out all bus services within 1/2 mile of the school. We actually live .6 miles from the school but for some reason we were included in the no bus service area.
