Should she be walking by now?

I have a 13 month old daughter. I'm getting worried because she hasn't started to walk yet. She can stand by herself and she walks if we are holding her hand, but she refuses to do it by herself. We will stand her and she will stand for a few seconds and then sit down and crawl. Should I be worried or is this normal?

  • Nope, don't be worried. Some children take longer than others. My son was 14 months before he was able to walk on his own.

  • My son walked at 14 months. The normal range is 9 months-18 months.

  • I wouldn't worry at all yet. My son didn't even walk til he was 17 months. Doctors don't usually worry until they get to 18 months and are still not walking. Give it time, she will get there.
