What's a good place to buy a refrigrator for a decent price?

I'm looking for a medium sized one, nothing too expensive or fancy. Just a basic refrigerator with a small freezer in it.

  • Lowe's - But also check your local resale shops and see if they have used appliances for sale. Here we have a Habitat for Humanity store where lots of people remodeling their houses donate their old stuff.

  • We usually buy our appliances from Lowe's. They have them in stock and can get them quickly. Quite often they have a free delivery.
They also have scratch and dents that are further reduced. Refrigerators have come down in price in the last few years. About $398.
Also you might want to put a notice on Freecycle that you need one.

  • Not sure if you have one near you but Ikea usually has good prices on appliances and most people don't think to look there.

  • I forgot to mention that Lowe's often has an extra 10 percent off is you open an account. I always say pay it off at the end of the month. But Lowe's also often has a 12 months no interest for purchases over 300 dollars. In this case you should pay 10% each month so that it is paid off before the 12 months. You have to make monthly payments and the bill has to be cleared by the end of the 12 months. If you are not disciplined about this, do not charge it because the finance charges can be huge and unnecessary.

  • Lowe's is awesome. Me and my husband bought our stainless stealing side by side fridge and we got a really great price. The frige was regular price around a thousand dollars then went on clearance for around 700.00and then since we were buying a engery star frige we got another 100.00 off and we only paid around 600.00 for our fridge.

  • We bought a new stove at Best Buy. Ironicly, it was the cheapest places to buy appliances and we got 6 months same as cash (the promotion at the time). You might want to try there.

  • I like Sears appliances, I've had great luck with them. They also have the 6 mo deal if you pay it off, there will be no interest.
