do you have an ilness which STOPS you from paying your bills off?

In our "near family"---,
one member has this certain illness for life, but the company he owes late payments to will not let him pay on an extension plan. He will have to allow the mgr to help him. Wish us an option...
We need to get payments set up on a plan extension, and it's with a major dept store know in the entire world. His credit has been spotless, with the exception of the last surgery.

  • The payment is late and the company is not required to make adjustments. Since his family knows of his illness why don't they take care of this problem for him.

  • A company can not allow to you lower the agreed upon payments on a credit card. The only thing they can do is defer a few payments. If he needs the payments lowered his only option is to let it go to collections and see if they will work with him. Collections usually have more leeway in working with a customer than the credit company does.

  • No he is obligated to pay, it's his account, but he will not get an extension with the company that will be listening to his pleas of almost ridiculous, since he had a surgery which prior of almost died. He is on the edge most all the time in his whole life. I warned him of credit. HE WOULDN'T LISTEN

  • You can't set up an extension plan if they won't allow him to. His best bet is to pay it off in full with the help of family or a bank loan.
