In your opinion -- is he still a father ( and was she right)

My brothers girlfriend was talking with me about my daughter ( basically asking about her birth) ... I told her that the guy who got me pregnant was mentally abusive and couldnt make up his mind if he wanted to be in my daughters life while I was pregnant, he then seen her once when she was 3 weeks old, signed over his rights... my now husband has adopted her, we have been married since she was 1 year old ( my daughter is now about to be 6 ) .....and I said that he recently tried to add me on facebook... and SHE said that I should have added him because he is still her father and he has a right to atleast see pictures of his little girl... GIVE ME A BREAK !!!

  • He was a sperm donor, not a father. He signed away his rights, and isn't entitled to "play dad" after all of this time.

  • hell no. im kind of in your shoes, only my daughter is 3 not 6, and my husband hasnt gone through the adoption process yet, but i certainly would not add him if he requested me on facebook. i keep it private on purpose, to keep people like him from knowing my business. your husband has adopted her, her bio dad signed over his rights, he has no business knowing what's on your facebook page or even looking at pictures of your kid. he removed HIMSELF from the picture!

  • I just want to say, don't add him.

And you're lucky he gave up his rights, I wish my ex husband would so my husband could adopt my son officially......ex comes around just enough to spend a little money on my son to buy his love, then leaves for 3 months before returning for another weekend. He's coming tomorrow and I'm dreading it. He is such a jerk

  • Nope. He gave up his rights. He basically said I don't want her. Don't listen to her.

  • No, he signed his rights away. I wouldnt add him if I was in your shoes. It's not like you just said get lost and ran away with your daughter, it was his choice.

    Damn facebook.
