How do you get your tween to open up and talk to you?

My daughter is 12. She's a very quiet child anyway. Since she's turned 12 it seems like she's even more quiet than usual. I'll ask her to tell me a specific story about anything that happened at school today and her answer will be "I ate lunch". lol It feels like she hates us now although she'd never say that. I've been through 3 other older girls and none of them have been quiet so this is new to me:-) Thanks!

  • Just try to give her space but let her know you are there for her and live her. She'll come around!
