Preschool Birthday invites, What do you give as a gift & how much do you spend?

My Son is 3 and is going to be invited (his Mom just told me) to a Preschool friends B-Day party (boy). What do you usually give as a gift for your childs new friends and how much do you spend? I have no idea. Thanks!

  • My son is 3 and has been to a few birthday parties for other 3 year olds. I go to Target and find a gift between $12-$15 that is age appropriate and gender appropriate.

  • No more than $10 for a school friend that you do not hang out with otherwise. It is ok to ask the parent if there is anything he really likes or that she does not allow(play guns). Usually we get hot wheels or monster truck stuff.

  • about 10 dollars is right.. 5 for really tight budgets.

And I'd let your son pick out the toy. (something he shows interest in may be something his friend might like, although be prepared to get two, lol).
