  • we used to do $50 per child, when we were struggling for money. But this year my df has found a job that really pays big so I'm thinking between $100-200 per child, we have 3. We get big family 'presents' with tax return money.

  • Last year we spent $5 per child and got nothing for the newborn. This year my husband has a better job and we will probably spend $10-$25

  • well we only have one child right now so we arent exactly on a budget. My mom always went with $100 for each child, but then some of my siblings would feel jipped because they wanted something expensive and would get one maybe 2 gifts, while I, who could never (and still cant) make up my mind on what to get always ended up with a dozen toys/gifts equal to $100, but my sister and brother always whined that i got more. So Im not sure.

  • Usually around $25-50 per child. And then we spend another $50 or so on a combined Christmas gift. We try to keep it balanced though, o that each child gets the same number of gifts as the other kids.

  • We get each of the 3 kids 1 large gift then equal number of smaller gifts. We try to keep it fair monetarily but more importantly, to them anyways, is that they receive an equal number. I'd say we spend roughly $300 per kid.

We shop with a small list of must haves but after that hubby and I just buy what we feel they will really enjoy.

  • We only have one child. We always buy one big present and many small ones. Right now I have spent to date: $65. We are not done though.

  • I have 3 kids and do up small gifts and then one big one for all three. Family gets gift cards or even movie passes. I think spent about 2 to 3 hundred dollars. It just depends each year what the big gift is going for or what we are doing.

  • We try to stick to about $150 or so per kid but as kids get older the gifts become more expensive.

I refuse to by stupid cheapo gifts though, just so they have a lot of presents. I would rather give one nice quality gift then a bunch of crap.
