Why does everyone put DS and DD instead of son and daughter? What does the D in front mean?

  • It means dear. But, if I do a question or such, I will name my child has is, my son. I dance to the beat of my own drum.

  • people use dd or ds because spelling the whole thing either takes to long or they are typing a lot lol....thats the only time that i use those.

  • It means darling and its easier to use two letters, rather than spelling it all out.

  • The previous posters answered what it meant but I don't understand really why people use it either. I type out who I'm referring to, if I didn't want to take the time to type, I wouldn't answer.
