  • You have to go to a physician and get the stuff you are supposed to soak in the tub with. Washing everything fabric will be good enough, on hot. There are no home remedies for scabies. Don't worry it's not as bad as it sounds!

  • Getting rid of scabies is much like getting rid of lice.

Everything in the home needs to be cleaned: all linenes, furniture, clothing... etc.

A special medicated "Bath" must be used by all those who have scabies. It must be prescribed by a doctor. There is no OC treatment for scabies.

Scabies is a type of mite much like lice.

  • You need to get to a doctor and get medicine. Also everything in the house needs to be washed in hot water- blankets, sheets, clothes, etc. You will also want to vacuum all of the furniture and any curtains. Anyone living with you, even if they don't have symptoms should be treated as well with medicine. There isn't anything that you can do to prevent it really.

  • You'll need to get the medicine and then clean everything top to bottom.

  • Temporary fix is to use topical Benadryl. But you MUST go to the doctor; they ARE contagious. I had them once (hubby too) and it was torture. The scratching was worse than chicken pox and the small pox vaccine. The doctor will give you a cream to cover your entire body and a prescription for Benadryl to stop the itching. Best thing to do after it's all applied is rest and try to sleep.

My husband and I still get the phantom itches and we got them five years ago.
