Do you have a favorite weekend breakfast that you fix and what day?

  • I try to make chilaquiles on Saturday when dh is home because that's his favorite.

  • Saturday mornings I cook Eggs in a blanket and Bacon.

    Eggs in a Blanket -

    Take a slice of bread, butter it, and take a small glass or the lid to a baby's bottle. Using the lid cut a hole in the center of the bread. Place in the pan butter side down on medium heat. Place a dab of butter in the center of the hole, then crack your egg ontop of the melting dab of butter. Let cook until the egg is cooked how you like it. Use the center portion you cut out of the bread as a piece of toast, by toasting in the pan along side your main dish. (You can use oil to grease the pan prior to cooking or pam, but I prefer butter.)

  • Homemade waffles or pancakes with maple syrup or fruit syrup and either bacon or sausage and orange juice, usually on Saturdays!

  • Currently it is more of brunch on Sat. The teens have cross country meets on Sat morn so we leave by 6:30 and they eat very little before a meet so they wont get sick after running.I fix egg,cheese strata with bacon ;baked cheese grits,waffles,french toast what ever we decide the day before.
