How do I plan a healthy lunch around a PB&J for a 7yr. old?

  • Just add some fruit, yogurt, or veggie and a snack . My DS loves PB&J for lunch!

  • Yup - what They said! :) My dd has pb every single day for lunch! She rotates between oranges, apples, and watermelon or blueberries (in season). We also pack either yogurt, string cheese, granola bars, or whole grain crackers - depending on what we have and what sounds good to her. She is also 7 and very opinionated when it comes to her lunch! :)

  • I have kids ages 8,7, and 5. along with their sandwich they can have items like fruit snack, fig newtons, chips, applesauce, fruit cups, gronala bars, pretzels, sometimes even a pudding cup is good. another two is goldfish or even trail mix.

  • PBJ + a dairy (cheese stick/yougurt) + fruit and or veggie .... apples/raisens/grapes go well with pbj and my kids like celery sticks too (to make ants on a log)

  • I say add a crunchy snack like carrots to munch on with it. You can also have cut up fruit, apples are good and are yummy with peanut butter. Or maybe even some cottage cheese mixed with fruit. My daughter loves cottage cheese, she will even add jelly to it.

  • Peanut better has a lot pf protein and is better then a ham and cheese. My sercert is slice bananna's in between, rasins. or a fruit on the side.
