how long is ovulation and how do know the sperm reached the egg? will ovulation stop or you start feeling sick?

  • On average you ovulate only one day. You won't know if the sperm met the egg until you miss your peroid and/or get a positive pregnancy test.

  • Once your egg ripens and releases it lives for about 24 hours. Sperm can live 3-5 days depending on how the "environment" of your body is (Ph/Acid balance can kill sperm faster) -- as other Moms have said... the way you "know" they actually met up -- is several weeks later when your body produces enough pregnancy hormone to show up in a urine test.
