Can you take a joke?

Are you able to appreciate a joke/snark made against a political or current event figure that you admire?

Or does it mostly just make you irritated and/or defensive?

  • I can take a joke.

*PRICE CHECK ON ONE JOKE PLEASE! PRICE CHECK!*

Ooops, nope... my dignity is far too costly for me to have a sense of humor! How dare you to offend me by speaking ill of someone I do not know, never will have the chance to know and in a manner that will not change or influence my life in one single way! UGH! (lol)

  • Sure.... But I learned on CafeMom, don't make fun of Obama (then you are a liberal proclaimed 'hater'); don't make fun of Michelle(then you are a liberal proclaimed 'hater'); don't make fun of Democrats (then you are a liberal proclaimed 'hater')...Anyone else seeing a trend???  LOL..... I have laughed at Late Night/Comedians interpretation of political leaders/parties I may lean towards agreeing with... It's the American way...  ;o)

  • I can take a joke. I laugh at jokes all the time about people I look up to or admire. It's just a joke. There's no sense in being all serious about it.

  • I can take jokes and I can laugh at them. Only if the jokes are not "below the belt" or racial or religious attacks. But I can't take lying about politicians. There are some good people out there and I resent it when the opposite party members unfairly attack and spread lies. That is not funny.

  • I can take a joke on just about any subject, but likewise, you'd better be able to take a joke back. Something my S/O can do w/everyone but ME.
