Iconic Hollywood writer and producer Stephen J. Cannell has died at the age of 69. According to his publicist and a family statement, Cannell died Thursday night at his home in Pasadena from complications associated with melanoma.

For three decades, Cannell was the man behind dozens of television series including, "The Rockford Files" and "The A-Team."

Cannell also produced 21 Jump Street, which made Johnny Depp a star.
