Sleep Routine

My DS is 17 months old, he normally wakes up around 830-9am. He then usually goes down for a nap around 2 and naps about 3.5-4 hours. Then I try to keep his bed time aroun 9-915. Lately he has been extremely fussy at bed time and has been fighting to sleep until around 11pm. Should I be cutting back on his nap or trying to get him to lay down for nap earlier? He is a terror at night now and really stresses me out fighting me.

  • Try waking him up by 8am to see if that 30 min to an hour make a difference and try laying him down at the first sign of being tired. Feed lunch by 11:30 or so and then nap by noon til 3 then bed time should be a lot easier. Adjusting may take a few days so be prepared for a couple off days. Good luck momma

  • I would start cutting his nap a little at a time. I would start at 15 min increments to cut it back and see if you can get any relief there.

  • I agree he sounds very tired at night. Cut the nap short and see how he does later.
