How does this happen?!

augh...well on my 14wk doc visit I lost 3 lbs (no morning sickness) today my 16wk visit I gained 6 lbs!!!!! How the hell did that happen?! I have been eating the same stuff the same amount...um is your metabolism slowed during pregnancy?!

  • You are pregnant... you are going to gain. The same thing happened to me. Your weight will fluctuate a lot during the next few months :).

  • yea...but 6 lbs in 2 wks??! Doesn't that seem excessive to you? I asked the doc and he said you might want to slow down there a bit.. : (

  • im 27 wks pregnant and between my 21wk and my 25wk dr.s appt i only gained lost 1lb. you will lose then yo will gain and you will gain some more then you will lose again. it normal.

  • If the weight gain continues in such a pattern then your OB might suspect PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension). There is a healthy weight gain per week but when it exceeds certain values then it might signal an issue. As long as your OB did not seem concerned at this moment then I would not worry.
