rent a center

we're relocating to washington state soon, and we're trying to decide if we're better to sell all of our furniture and start over there, or if we just bite the bullet and rent a u-haul and take all of our furniture. we'll be moving from arkansas, so it's a little over 33 hours for a drive there. we got into financing with our funiture now, and i absolutely hate it..we had the money to pay cash for it, but decided that we'll finance for whatever reason, and now we've been charged so much interest when we were told we wouldn't be..anyway, we won't have the money when we get there to go out and buy furniture outright. so...is rent-a-center any different?...is it worth it? any suggestions? i look up rates, and it would be over 1000 to do a u-haul, that's not including gas or any other charges they might hit you with. it would be a move on the 21 of this month. dh thinks we should do a corporate apt for a while, but i don't want to

  • I would haul the furniture because you end up paying for more through a rent-a-center than you would if you just bought your own furniture. What part of washington are you moving to? I live in Port angeles.

  • Rent a center is complete RIP OFF. You will end up paying for your furniture twice over the course of your payment plans with the interest. It is outrageous!

  • Not to mention, even if you sell your furniture, you still have to pay for it through your financing company. So why not just keep it and keep making your payments on it?

  • Puyallup? Yuck! lol Move to Bellevue. You're closer to the city and it's pricey, but the people in Puyallup are stupid and rude. I used to live in Tacoma, that was close enough to that place. lol

  • Rent a center charges far more interest than any furniture store. Your best bet is to rent a truck.... booking it online and finding a discount code is the best bet... I blogged about it here, and mentioned problems I had with the experience here

  • Not only is Rent a center a rip off, you can get bed bugs, roaches, lice, etc from used furniture.. I would stay far away from all of that!! GL to you on your move!
