My daughter just turned 1. I checked her temp & it was 99.6. She feels very warm. What should I do?

  • Anything above 99 is starting into a fever. I would consider 101 a medium grade fever honestly. You should be able to give her Children's Motrin or Tylenol for it.

  • For children, I say anything over 99 is a temp

  • ER's probably wont see her til its 101 or higher.. for my daughters pedi anything under 101 isn't considered a fever..

  • Give her some childrens fever reducer and a popsicle. You could also put her in a tepid bath. That low of a fever isn't too worrisome. but if the fever sticks around for more than a couple of days or she pulls at her ears, is coughing or stops eating you should call the Pedi for an appt. A fever, unless it is over 104 is not ER worthy.
