a 36 year old grandma!

at the wic clinic the other day i met a 36 year old grandma. i was shocked because she looked like the mom! she had her baby at 17 and her baby had her grandbaby at 16. i will be 36 in 12 years and my oldest will be 16, and i hope and pray im not a 36 year old grandma someday! i plan to put mine on birth control when they're 16 and educate them about the consequences of having sex, but im in no way in a position to judge so please dont take my post offensively. my best friend had her baby at 16, it happens. i just couldnt believe how young she looked and how young she is, a grandma at 36!

what's the youngest age grandparent you know?

and by the way i didnt really know what category to put this in so i picked just for fun, but i know the topic isnt really fun at all.

  • I've heard of 28. No lie. The grandma had hers at 13 and her child had theirs at 15. Sick if I tell you. Just go to the store and spend $4.00 on condoms. If the boy won't get them. The girl can. I don't know. It's sad.

  • The youngest one I know was 29 when she became a grandmother. She was 15 and her daughter was 14 when they had their babies.

  • A girl I went to elementary school was a grandma at 37. I havent spoke to her in years, I just heard it from someone else we know. One of my good friends became a grandma in May. She was 39 (her b-day is today so she's 40; the baby is 5 mo now) Her daughter was 15 (since turned 16). She was actually taking her to the doctor to get on birth control & found out it was too late; she was already pregnant.

  • 16+17=33...something is wrong with her calculations. lol

Anyway... I think I would die! My oldest is 11 so when I am 36 he will be 14, I certainly hope he doesn't have a baby at 14.. Anyway. I knew a girl who was born to a 13 year old and when she was 13 she had a baby too. That means the grandma was 26! Now that is totally INSANE! I mean 36 is weird too, but not unheard of.

  • My mom was 40 when I had my first. I am now 44 and my oldest is 24, and I am not a grandma yet.
