  • My daughter started crawling at six months....she was cruising by 8 months but refused to walk on her own until a few weeks ago (15 months). She would walk while holding just my finger but wouldn't do it solo until recently.

The "norm" is based on gross generalizations. Each baby is different. Just because your child is 9 months and not crawling doesn't mean that something is wrong...some babies just learn later and take their time. Likewise, some babies are super fast crawlers and walkers...as I previously stated, it all just depends on the baby.

  • it depends on the child my son crawled at 6 months and he walked at 10 months but my daughter didnt walk til 3 days after she turned one but she also had fluid on her ears and when she got her tubes she walked the same day so it all depends on the child

  • My son crawled at 8 months. Started climbing & pulling up on things the next day. He still cruises around the furniture at 10 months.

  • Every child is different, all my kids started crawling around 5 months but the 3 oldest didn't start walking until they were over a year and my youngest started walking at 9 months.

  • Depends on the child. My daughter didn't walk alone till she was 13 months old. My son got up and walked alone at 8 months, 3 weeks. They were both within the normal range, just one at the bottom end and one at the top end.

  • My daughter crawled at 6 months and started walking at 9 1/2 months. From watching my nieces and nephews, they all seemed to crawl by at least 8 months and walked shortly after a year. I think every child progresses at it's own pace. I really didn't have to work with my daughter. For the most part, she did it all by herself. My niece had a lot of help and stil didn't walk until a year. So, it really just depends.

  • My son was crawling at about 6.5 months and cruising at 9 months. By a year he was walking on his own. Like everyone else said though, every baby is different.

  • Honestly, it's whenever they get ready to do it. Lydia crawled at 5 months, and takes 1 step every now and then now (almost 10 months old). So it's all up to when your baby feels like it. :)

  • My daughter started crawling at eight months and, no joke, the very same day, she figured out how to pull up to stand and cruised across the coffee table! Every baby is different! Just work with your LO and have fun! Enjoy it now because it's not all that easy to do stuff while they are getting into everything!....I miss the days when she would stay where I put her! LOL
