  • beating a child until they have welts or bruises on their body. Not allowing your child to shower or eat when they need to. Locking them in a cold room with no heat in the winter, not protecting your children from child molestors, telling your children they are stupid sluts, that they will never amount to anything.

Spanking is NOT child abuse if it leaves no marks, is only on the bottom, and is done for the right reasons...out of anger is not the right reasons.

  • physically hurting a child in a willful way.

    mentally hurting a child.

neglecting a child by not providing them with adequate food, clothes or shelter.

i probably left something out, but that's what comes to mind for now.

  • Child abuse is willfully and intentionally doing any physical or psychological action that results in some form of damage to the child without having any beneficial intention and simply doing it to hurt a child.

  • I believe abuse to be anything harmful to child. Whether that is through emotional/mental abuse including name lling and alienation of other parents, physical hurt no matter how it is inflicted on the child, and negelcting their general well being whether its cleanliness, leaving hem alone, or feeding them. All children are affected differently by how we to choose to treat and discipline them.

  • Anything which causes long term illness or injury - that could be physical, mental or emotional... Abuse falls in to all forms, many people see spanking as abuse because the child is struck, but in many times screaming at a child is going to cause more damage long term than a small swat on the butt... I think even things like timeouts, when taken to extremes, can fall in to the abuse category.

  • neglect (no food, no clean clothes, failing to bathe the children), beating the children (serious physical harm, bruises, etc), mental abuse (degrading the children, telling them they are worthless etc)
Spanking with the hand is NOT abuse as long as it doesn't leave a mark
