Can anyone tell me how to assess info on my background?

I have been trying to find out about my background and family tree but have very limited information. How can I find out more if I don't know much to start with?

  • www.ancestry.com is one of the best resources you can use. A lot of the time, unless you pay, the leaf that you get is related to possible birth and death records. I think if you pay for the site, you're able to get even more information. I have people on my mother's side and my husband's maternal side who happen to have a lot of information on their family roots. While this is helpful, even having limited information can help with Ancestry.

  • My mom has been able to use www.ancestry.com to do our family history, but I know they have a membership fee so not sure if that is something you are willing to do.
