Property Tax sales in Pa

anyone in PA have experience in this? There was a sign posted saturday for a piece of property that we want and then we went to the courthouse to buy it today and evidentally it didn't go on sale yet?? It got postponed to later this month. So now we have to get put on pause and then I guess go in then and hope that 1. he didn't pay off his taxes by then 2. nobody is there to out bid us. So in anyones experience, are their ususally a lot of people trying to get the same property? I'm hoping that people won't know about it and we can just go in and get it easily then.

  • Well I think you need to talk with your courthouse. In our area in PA they have a list that they publish in the paper and a few months later all of them go up for sale auction style in a big auditorium. We buy quite a few of our rental properties this way and have been through the process many times. It may vary by city though. The sign on the door is for the person who lives there to know that they owe the taxes and the house is going to be sold at auction if they don't pay up.
