How do I press a clove of garlic with out a garlic press?

  • you may have to chop it up but you can try to use something heavy the press on it..

  • Use a large flat knife on it's side and press or smash the garlic with the palm of your hand on the side of the knife. Here is a page that shows how its done.... it basically flattens it out.... and you can chop further or leave as is.... Copy paste the whole link and it shows an excerpt from the book with a picture...

  • I was going to make the knife suggestion too. Here's another tip too. If you take 5 or 6 cloves of garlic and microwave them for 15 seconds they will slide out of the skins.

  • large flat knife.. cutting board, smash the garlic and then press over the garlic board, it should mash fairly easily..
