Do you remove your air conditioners for the winter or do you just cover them up?

  • I take mine out. I think I'm going to leave ours in for another week or so to make sure it wont be needed again. I just cant stand the look of it.

  • We always take them out... When I was a kid we just covered them and they always let tons of cold air in around them... So we just remove them and it works must better.

  • We have central Air So we just cover the outdoor unit.

  • We have a central air unit now so no need, but when we had window units we took them out so we didn't have the extra drafts.

  • Neither. I live out side of New Orleans and we need them through out the year. We've had several Christmas days when the kids are outside in. short sleves and somtimes even shorts

  • We have central units so we leave them be.
    But when you have window units - there is nothing worse than leaving them in the windows over the winter as they do not provide a tight seal to keep the cold air out.
