we have a directtv unit outside

but i want to get a total of 3-4 boxes they don't have to be dvr. can i buy them without having to buy the service right form directtv because i can get prepaid cards from our radio shack.

  • I'm not too sure. Wouldn't it be cheaper just to get the boxes through DirecTV then having to buy the boxes and the prepaid cards though? Especially since you don't really want the DvR boxes.

  • You have to pay for each additional box....$5 a month for any additional box you have getting service.

  • the reason for prepaid is because of our credit. either way i still have to pay for the boxes :( there will be 4 boxes and my fil is heling cut the cost down a bit

  • You don't have to go through directv even though you have a unit outside. You could use another provider, but they would have to set up their own equiptment.
