my 7 yr. old daugher really dosent have allergies but when the weather starts changing and gets winter time she has bad coughs all the time like almost constant, could it be allergies? or maybe something else? anyone have any ideas of what it could be??

  • Could be allergies. My DD has had a chronic cough like that for a while, it would only bother her at night when she laid down. We mentioned it to the doc because we've been suspecting asthma, dr. said start Claritin and see what happens. Within a couple of days her cough was gone! We use the 5mg chewables, and on a bad day she gets 2 tablets. There's no harm in trying an allergy med (unless she has medication restrictions - ask the doc if you're unsure).

  • i would try a humidifier and extra water to drink before any medications.

  • I know a lot of kids that have those kind of allergy reactions when the weather changes, maybe try zyrtec or claritin to see if it helps.
