  • Check out a "A wrinkle in Time" Or the Harry Potter series which is aimed at this age bracket. Or there is Narnia Series by C.S. Lewis. I also hear "The Phantom Toll booth" is good but I missed this one as a child.

  • That's a huge range. And it differs (generally) between boys and girls. My DD is 8 and reading Mary Kate and Ashley Mystery Files books, Rainbow Fairies series, and The Babysitter Adventures series, including the Little Sister series and Mrs. Coleman's Class. My DS is 11 and read Percy Jackson series, Harry Potter series years ago, Artemis Fowl series, The Hunger Games trilogy, Epic, Clone Codes, Magician/Alchemist/Sorceress series, Heir series. I recommend any Roald Dahl books, Judy Bloom, Margaret L'Engle. Each one has books for different levels and ages.
