  • I don't know your situaton, i.e. whether you have neigbors or relative. But there are, most area, a list of emergency services. Usually they are church sponsored. We have a Salvation Army shelter here and Hope Outreach, both of which will help any time. If you have a nieghbor, ask them if you can work in trade for them. House work etc for help. It sounds ridiculous, but there is always a time when pride must not be what you eat for dinner. Reach out to someone.

  • Look in phone book for food banks . Call Social Services and get food stamps. Unfortunately you really should have done this stuff long before 5:30pm on a Friday after everyone of those places will be closed until Monday probably!

  • try a food pantry. some offer hot meals once a day.

look up catholic charities in your area and they should be able to give you a number.

people will knock you....they just want you to feel crappy so they can feel better....i'm not a judger and i hope it gets better for you.

  • i get food stamps and have in the past ran out b4 next pay out, the thing that help me was planning meals and i buy geniric as much as poosible i spent 300 this month for a family of 5 and doing well i plan everything right down to snacks, but you cant be picky to do this. and we one child that is special diet...but like everyone else said try your local churches and food banks. where im at we have a program where you volenteer 10hr a month and pay 30 $ and get 50lbs of food and they accept food stamps...i would ask your soical services office if they have a program like that, and we take our 2 older kids to the animal shelter so we get 12 hrs in one day ( 3 hrs total x 4 of us)

  • you need to re evaluate your bills. like the computer your on right now? how much does that cost you to run each month, what about cable? im not trying to be a bitch we had to make some changes in our finances cause we dont get foodstamps but im not going to have these over getting food for my family. this wont help tonight but in the long run and next month it will help. are you guys wasting a lot of food? my parents never had food for us growing up cause when foodstamp time came they invited everyone over for dinner and threw a lot away cause they cooked to much. im sorry you have to live like this, it can happen to anyone but i would evaluate my bills to see if theres any that can be lowered or done away with so you have $ for food.
