Self Cleaning oven?

How do you clean the oven racks on your oven? I just hate scrubbing them when I am running my self cleaner. It says in my book not to keep the racks in there. Just wondering what you do? Thanks

  • The reason that you don't keep the racks in the oven when run self clean is because it gets so hot that it will ruin the chrome finish on the racks and could cause them to start to rust as the chrome could flake off.

I take mine outside and lean them against the deck and hit them with some Easy-Off oven cleaner and then spray them down.

  • Also I sometimes borrow my moms Bissel Steam Shot has a little attachment that can blast steam in a small area and it works good at getting stuck on gunk off
