Do you put cheese on your apple pie?

I was having a slice of store-bought apple pie, so I wasn't expecting it to be stellar. I got to thinking about seeing people put cheddar cheese on apple pie. I would have tried it, but I didn't have any.

  • It's a thing people in Maine do! Yes! I learned to make pie crust from a state of Mainer and she was like, boom here is your cheddar. And so I tried it and it's good.

Its like ice-cream on pie but salty. It's only good if you salt and sweet together.

  • I've seen that done, but no, never have. Much rather have ice cream or whipped cream on mine. :)

  • No I never have, but I do like a piece of cheddar cheese with an apple. It really brings out the flavor of the apple.

  • I'm not a fan of cheddar cheese. I prefer French vanilla ice cream with apple pie, but on the side.

  • Yes, sometimes. I alternate with ice cream and cheese depending on the mood I'm in at the time.
