  • Get in as many kisses, hugs, cuddles, giggles as you can. Hold your child's hand when they ask. Curl up with a book and read to them. They only want those things for so long. Take advantage of it while you can.

  • Be patient, consistent, supportive, nurturing and loving. Treat your children with respect, listen to them when they speak, and hear them, don't disregard their opinions. Never fail to talk to them, allow them their feelings, their anger, their happiness, their hurts. Teach them what it means to have self respect, to be confident in themselves and that they are worthy of love and respect. Lead by example, don't expect them to do as you say. Learn to pick your battles, allow them to be children, to explore, to be curious, to have fun and to feel loved.
