Why do they test your urine when you are pregnant? Are they able to detect amnotic fluid?

  • looking for high blood sugar and protein(pre eclampsia)
    amniotic fluid would not be present

  • it depends what they're testing for. they can detect lots of things by your urine, such as infections, sugar levels, etc. pretty crazy! but when testing it for pregnancy, they test the level of the hcg hormone.
