  • same here. Like I know that DD's grandparents & other extended family on her bio dad's side are gonna go crazy on the gifts for her. We are doing a more low key thing. I will feel obligated to buy them something but I do not want to. Not because I have anything against them, but I simply do not want to end up spending another couple hundred dollars.

  • you shouldn't feel obligated to give, especially when it is not in your budget of wasting that extra money....If you feel u gotta give something at least go to a dollar tree store and they have cards there starting at $.50, so don't worry and don't stress it it aint healthy.

  • No. I let people know we don't exchange gifts and ask them to do the same with us. If they give us something anyway, I say thank you.

  • Why not make them something homemade?! Do your daughter's hand prints or something like Cookies in a Jar. Those things are very inexpensive, and it's something that I think almost any grandparent would like. For Mother's Day and stuff like that, and even birthdays, I've almost always had my kids make my mom something. She would rather have that than something bought from the store. And that's from her mouth, not mine!
