What would you say to mom about asking for a loan?

My husband and I are receiving a loan in mid Nov but need money now. My mom is skeptical but I told her I was getting it from one of my hubbies relatieve that never paid him back for a loan years ago. Of course my hubby's relative bailed on us, no surprise, so what should I say to mom so she can understand this is for tax purposes?

  • I agree with cara124. If you feel the need to explain why you need the loan, give her the basics. Then again, it's HER money she's loaning to you. If it were the other way around, I'm sure you'd want to know where your money was going and how it was spent.
